ENV - Urban and Regional Planning - Margarita McCoy Scholarship

The scholarship honors the legacy of Margarita P. McCoy by supporting and encouraging students in urban and regional planning.

Criteria:

  • Open to current undergraduate (sophomore, junior, or senior) or graduate students
  • Student must have completed at least two semesters (24 units for undergraduates and 12 units for graduates) of college education/ course work (at any accredited institution) and one semester in URP as either a BSURP or MURP student
  • Student must be majoring in Urban and Regional Planning
  • Cumulative GPA must be greater than or equal to 3.0
  • Must be enrolled in at least one unit at the time of disbursement
  • Must complete supplemental criteria

Supplemental Questions
  1. Write an essay discussing your academic qualifications and accomplishments, career goals, and reasons for selecting being qualified for this scholarship. If applicable, the essay should address the challenges that you have overcome or currently experience in achieving your goals. Preference will be given to students who articulate in their essays a demonstrated commitment to advancing opportunities for individuals or groups who have been historically underserved in planning. The essay must be no longer than two (2) pages and include at least one paragraph on each of the above listed criteria.
  2. I have completed at least one semester of college education (at any accredited institution) and one semester in URP as either a BSURP or MURP student.
