Engineering - ME - Dr. Edward M. Gates Memorial Scholarship Endowment

The Dr. Edward M. Gates Memorial Scholarship is for students in the Mechanical Engineering Department who show integrity and exhibit excellence in both theoretical and practical knowledge of science and engineering.

Award Period: Fall 2026

Criteria:

• Open to continuing Freshman, Sophomore, Junior and Seniors (newly admitted first-time freshman and transfers are eligible to apply)
• Major must be Mechanical Engineer
• Must be enrolled full-time (12 or more units) for during the award period
• NO GPA required

Selected applications will be auto-matched based on their completed general application. Eligible winner(s) will be notified via email.

As a scholarship recipient, you will be invited to attend the College of Engineering Scholarship Conferral luncheon. Please monitor your email regularly for details. While this event is not mandatory, it is a unique opportunity for you to meet the donor. We highly recommend that you make every effort to attend.
