College of Science - Chem & Biochem - Dr. Earl Pye Memorial Scholarship

Dr. Earl Pye taught chemistry at Cal Poly Pomona for over 25 years, specializing in physical and corrosion chemistry and he was very active in research and academic administration. His family and friends established this scholarship in his honor.

Criteria:

• Open to current freshman or sophomore students who have shown excellence in General Chemistry

• Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0

• Must be a Chemistry Major

• Open to international students

• Preference will be given to students who displayed exceptional academic promise in CHM 1210 or CHM 1220 in current academic year or previous academic year.

• One letter of recommendation from a professor who was the student’s instructor in CHM 1210 or CHM 1220 or General Chemistry at another institution in 2024-2025 OR 2025-2026
