ENV - Urban and Regional Planning - Earl Gales Scholarship

The scholarship aims to support students who demonstrate resilience in overcoming social or economic challenges and who show strong potential to contribute meaningfully to the fields of Architecture or Urban and Regional Planning

Criteria

  • Open to current undergraduate (sophomore, junior, or senior) or graduate students
  • Student must have completed at least two semesters (24 units) of college education/ course work (at any accredited institution) and one semester in URP as either a BSURP or MURP student
  • Student must be majoring in Urban and Regional Planning ( eligible candidates from the Department of Architecture may also be considered)
  • Cumulative GPA must be greater than or equal to 3.0
  • Student must have financial need as demonstrated through the completed FAFSA or Dream Act application for the upcoming academic year

Note:
- -Preference will be given to students who have actively contributed to fostering a welcoming and respectful campus environment, including engagement with student organizations or initiatives that promote cross-cultural understanding, or community building
- The scholarship will be awarded with a preference first for students in the Department of Urban and Regional Planning; however eligible candidates from the Department of Architecture may also be considered.

Supplemental Questions
  1. The Scholarship Committee requests a brief essay from applicants. The essay should include information about the student's activities that demonstrate leadership, initiative, or meaningful contributions to their college or academic environment. We ask that the essay be no longer than two (2) pages and focus on how the student has positively impacted their educational community
  2. I have completed at least one semester of college education (at any accredited institution) and one semester in URP as either a BSURP or MURP student.
