CBA - Ahmed M. Abo-Hebeish Endowed Scholarship

Purpose: The Ahmed M. Abo-Hebeish Scholarship provides direct support to students in the form of funds to cover the cost of in-state academic fees. It is the intent to provide scholarship assistance to full-time, undergraduate accounting students at Cal Poly Pomona. Recipients must reapply annually. Priority will be given to renewable scholarship recipients who meet criteria; yet, award is not automatically given to the prior year’s recipients.

The scholarship is annually funded at the total cost of tuition and fees that year. As such, each year/quarter may vary with a percent fee increase determined by the CSU Chancellor’s Office.

Criteria:

Both entering and continuing students
• Completed 90 or more units, Junior and senior standing
• Declared accounting major in the College of Business Administration
• Minimum 3.0 Cumulative GPA
• Enroll in a minimum of 12 credits of academic work each term and not drop below that number at any time during the academic year
• Provide a personal statement describing outstanding service to a student organization, why the scholarship would be meaningful and how it would help achieve educational and career goals
• Completion of Intermediate Accounting (ACC313) and Auditing (ACC419) courses

Not limited to students with calculated financial need
Renewable for five years

Annual award amount $500. Awards range from a min of $500 to a max of $1,000.
