ENV - Landscape Architecture - ONA Scholars Scholarship
This scholarship is provided to fund Landscape Architecture students with a specific interest in community service.
Award Period: Fall 2025
Criteria:
- Open to ALL BSA and MLA students including incoming undergraduate (BSLA) or graduate (MLA) students
- Must be enrolled full-time at the time of disbursement (12-units or more for undergraduates, 6-units or more for graduates)
- Must have a major GPA of 2.5 or greater
- Must complete General Scholarship Application
- Must complete supplemental criteria:
- Letter of intent specifically describing the community service project that the applicant wishes to undertake and the implications of the work on the applicant’s future directions within the discipline of – - Landscape Architecture. (Generic statements will be scored lower than well-written statements addressing the intentions of the scholarship)
- A4 Size digital portfolio:
– Maximum of 8-page spreads of A4 size (16 total pages).
– Portfolio projects that support the application.
– For each project :
– Identify the course number/term, instructor, and team members.
– Provide a short project statement including: description of the community being served, community members or groups associated with the project, a timeline/itinerary for the project, the intended results/deliverables for the project.
Note
- Post-award requirements will include a thank-you letter to donor (Dennis Otsugi), report of findings, and a public presentation of findings/discoveries/outcomes in Spring 2026
- If selected for scholarship, recipients must provide the thank you letter, submitted to the Department Landscape Architecture office by June 1, 2025. Report of findings/presentation must be provided to the department within one year of receiving the scholarship.
