ENV - Urban and Regional Planning - Harry Anthony Scholarship


Award Period: Spring 2025

The scholarship honors the legacy of Harry Anthony by supporting and encouraging students in Urban and Regional Planning (URP) to travel outside of California. The scholarship encourages URP students to travel to major U.S. cities and learn diverse planning and urban design cases from their visit or travel to the study sites or case study sites for their senior projects/theses/client projects.

Criteria:

  • Open to upper division undergraduates (sophomore, junior or senior) or graduates majoring in URP
  • Student must have completed at least two semesters (24 units) of college education/course work (at any accredited institution) and one semester in URP
  • Cumulative GPA must be greater than or equal to a 3.0
  • Must be enrolled in at least one unit at the time of disbursement

Application Material:
The Scholarship Committee requests a travel plan of the applicants. The plan should include information on the goals and objectives that the applicants want to achieve from the travel, the places that the applicants want to visit, and the activities that the applicants will engage. We ask that the plan be no longer than two (2) pages in narrative plus the budget and address the above listed criteria.

Note:
Donors will be informed of scholarship winners’ identities. Winners will be required to share with donors a report/travel log on their travel. The report/travel log does not have to be an academic write-up. It can be as simple as the summary of the activates including photos.
