FA&S - California Retired Teacher Association (CalRTA) Laura Settle

It is the mission of the CalRTA Laura Settle Scholarship Foundation to financially assist students who will become future teachers in California.

Criteria:

  • Must be an undergraduate senior in the Liberal Studies major or enrolled in a Credential Program or enrolled in a graduate (Master’s) program within the College of Education and Integrative Studies, including practice teaching positions
  • Students must possess an above average scholastic record, defined by the donor as a GPA of 3.0 or better
  • A record of exemplary character and good citizenship, evaluated by activities and/or letters of recommendation
  • Must submit TWO letters of recommendation one from a CPP faculty and one from a teacher with whom you have worked in the classroom
  • Must complete supplemental essay questions
  • Must be enrolled at least part-time during awarding academic year
  • Financial Need (Students must submit FAFSA or Dream Act application corresponding with the awarding academic year)
