College of Ag - AMM Scholarship
The Apparel Merchandising and Management (AMM) Department of Don. B Huntley College of Agriculture recognizes students who want to be the innovators and pioneers of tomorrow and those who dare to be excellent. To attract and recruit incoming freshmen and transfer students, as well as to support continuing students in the AMM program at Cal Poly Pomona, the AMM Scholarship recognizes students who have declared the AMM as their major, who are academically strong, and who are considering pursuing their fashion career through a program of study based on the polytechnic tradition of "learn by doing.” Expenditures are to be used for students’ tuition and fees and can be applied more than once. This scholarship will be awarded to individuals who need financial support, who are self-starters, leaders, team players, and multi-disciplined in focus. It is intended to assist students who can show a strong level of academic achievement with a calculated financial need, who will be continuously pursuing a degree in the field of Apparel Merchandising and Management. First-generation, low-income (Pell Grant eligible), and underrepresented minority (URM) candidates are encouraged to apply.
Criteria:
- Must be a current or incoming freshman, sophomore or Junior
- Open to AMM students only who are and will continue as an AMM major
- Must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 (H.S. GPA will be used for incoming first-time freshmen and transfer GPA will be used for incoming first-time transfers)
- Must demonstrate financial need (as determined by submitted FAFSA or California Dream Act Application) OR , international students that elaborate on their financial need as part of the personal statement on the General Scholarship Application).If you did not elaborate in your personal statement, you may return back to your General Scholarship Application to make the update.
- Resumé, transcript, and letter of recommendation are not required, but encouraged
Note: Scholarship will be used for student tuition and fees only. Eligibility for other fee-specific paying financial aid/resources such as Cal Grant or State University Grant may be impacted if you are selected to receive this scholarship.
