ENV - Landscape Architecture - Lifescapes International Scholarship

The Lifescapes Scholarship is provided by Lifescapes International, Inc. the award-winning international landscape architectural firm headquartered in Newport Beach, CA, founded by Don Brinkerhoff, an alumnus of the BSLA program, who is a long-term supporter and advocate for students in the Department of Landscape Architecture. This scholarship is to provide financial support for students with a demonstrated interest and commitment to the discipline and profession of landscape architecture, who are starting their academic journey in either the BSLA or the MLA program at Cal Poly Pomona. Incoming students can apply for this scholarship’

Award Period: Fall 2024

Criteria:

  • Open to incoming undergraduate (BSLA) and graduates (MLA) students (transfer students eligible to apply)
  • Open to current undergraduate (BSLA) or graduate (MLA) students
  • Must be enrolled at least half-time (6 units and above for undergraduates and 3 units and above for graduates) at the time of disbursement
  • A minimum of 3.0 major OR cumulative GPA for the latest 60 semester units as documented in the admission application or transferring process or current Departmental GPA
  • Demonstrated financial need as determined by the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) or California Dream Act Application (CADAA) that corresponds with the award period
  • Complete general scholarship application
  • Must complete supplemental criteria:
    - Letter of intent specifically addressing the applicant’s educational goals, financial need, and the opportunity afforded by the scholarship. Incoming/transferring students can include their admission application materials for this purpose. (Generic statements will be scored lower than well-written statements addressing the intentions of the scholarship).

Note:
- Post-award requirements will include a thank-you letter to donor, submitted to the Department Landscape Architecture office by June 1, 2025.
