Collins - Experience the Industry Award - The National Restaurant Association Show - Chicago
The Collins – Experience the Industry Award – The National Restaurant Association Show in Chicago is for undergraduate and graduate students who completed selected units at the Collins College of Hospitality Management. Please refer to the criteria and agreement terms if you are selected for this opportunity. Priority will be given to graduating seniors and to those students who have not attended this show before.
Selection Criteria for Spring 2018 awards:
- Must complete at least 36 units (Collins courses) as an undergraduates
- Must complete 24 units (Collins courses) as a graduate students
- Must maintain a minimum GPA of 2.75 and above
- Submit all supplemental questionnaire below

All Collins College student representatives will be required to attend the events and participate in the Collins College Exhibit at this industry show in professional attire, attend all college-sponsored activities (including attendance at educational seminars, tours and the college-hosted meal) during the show, and stay, as a group, in the hotel selected by Collins College. Students will attend a mandatory orientation meeting on campus prior to the trip. If you are selected, you will be notified of the meeting in advance. Students will leave and arrive at Chicago no later than 5 p.m. on Friday, May 18 and are expected to attend the entire show with a return flight no earlier than 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 22. Return flights must be scheduled to accommodate this commitment. The Collins College will make the reservations for four nights of lodging in Chicago (Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday) and pay for the costs for room and tax. The Collins College will obtain the admission badges for the National Restaurant Association trade show and will pay for a college-hosted meal. Students will be responsible for their expenses to include round-trip airfare, meals, and ground transportation. Students will also be personally responsible for miscellaneous purchases, gratuities, personal activity transportation, and entertainment.
Final recipient(s) will be selected to represent The Collins College of Hospitality Management at California State Polytechnic University, Pomona and require to work our booth on the industry trade show floor. Students selected will also be asked to follow the “Disney Look” guidelines while participating in all industry and college events.
