EOP - Eric Lara Family Scholarship

The Lara Family Scholarship was established by EOP alum Erica Lara to support individuals who are first-generation, underrepresented, and of limited financial means. This scholarship is his way of honoring the Educational Opportunity Program and the staff as well as assisting new generations of EOP students. The Lara Family Scholarship will benefit an EOP student with a preference for those who are from La Puente, where Lara grew up.

Criteria:

  • Must be an EOP student
  • Must be currently enrolled full-time (12 units or more) and must maintain full-time enrollment and be in good academic standing for the fall and spring semester
  • Minimum 2.0 CPP or Cumulative GPA
  • Open to all undergraduate majors
  • Special consideration will be given to those students coming from donor’s hometown in La Puente, but all EOP students are encouraged to apply
  • Must submit a 250-500- word supplemental personal statement/essay
